Kidstime workshops

Kidstime workshops are monthly multi-family social and educational groups of 2.5 hours, sponsored by a variable collaboration of health, social care, and voluntary staff, which are available at various locations in the UK and Europe. The goal is to help both the affected parents and children to discuss together the impacts of the parent’s illness, as well as strategies for mutual protection. The main medium of discourse is generic explanation, rather than attention to the needs of individual families. In separate and joint groups they use drama (which is regularly filmed), play, and universally eat Pizza together whilst watching the drama films made by the children. They are not a ‘treatment’, and although they promote much discussion there is no pressure on individual families to disclose their experiences.
